Governor David Ige this afternoon on August 18, 2020 announced a delay in the start of the state’s pre-travel testing program to Oct. 1, 2020 at the earliest.

Mandatory 14-day quarantine for arrivals extended to October 1, 2020

Hawaii’s mandatory 14-day quarantine for all arrivals is in effect through October 1, 2020. Don’t risk illness, arrest or fines — visitors and returning residents alike.

The Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau notes that the state’s quarantine order is unlike any other in the country.

In addition to risking the health of yourself and others, ignoring the quarantine requirement can subject you to arrest and fines of up to $5,000.

If you are planning a trip to the islands while this quarantine is in effect, be aware that vacation rentals have been deemed non-essential by Gov. Ige’s order and, therefore, cannot legally accept new reservations.

Mandatory Travel Declaration

To reduce the transmission of COVID-19 in Hawaii and avoid a strain on our health care system, Governor David Ige enacted a mandatory 14-day traveler quarantine and passenger verification process for those traveling to the Hawaiian Islands.  Effective August 11,2020
