Two New Board Members Elected At our Annual Homeowners meeting on January 27, 2018, Jeff Kern and Barry Ewing were elected to serve on the KKN Board of Directors. As a homeowner, for years Jeff has voluntarily worked on many projects around the property concerning the  plumbing and maintenance. His expertise will be very valuable to us. Barry Ewing has served on the Board as President and is very knowledgeable about Maui real


Smoking on Property Smoking is only permitted in 2 designated areas on the Kihei Kai Nani property. There is NO SMOKING on Lanais, the Pool Area or on grounds. Smoking is NOT PERMITTED inside units EXCEPT with written consent by owners or owner’s agent. Smoking Area Map

2017 Thanksgiving at KKN

2017 KKN Thanksgiving Day Celebration Owners,residents,and guest of Kihei Kai Nani enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner out at the Pavilion in our complex.  While it was a bit windy everyone enjoyed themselves and the dinner was absolutely wonderful. Approximately 90 guests were joined by President of the Homeowners Association Ethel Belway and Board member Wayne Braid.  Guests included many from Canada, the USA of course, from Germany, the Netherlands and from South Africa. The Homeowners Association is very appreciate of all the volunteers led by Donna Berge who cooked, set tables, cleaned and made certain that we all had a

Lawrence F Lowery Memorial Bench

A bench has been installed in memory of Dr. Lawrence F. Lowery near the office/laundry/pool area. Dr. Lowery, “Larry”, was a founding member of the Kihei Kai Nani Ohana. The plaque reads: In Memory of Larry Dr. lawrence F. Lowery 6/21/32   5/15/2016 To a founding father of KKN Ohana

Transient Accommodations Tax ( TAT or Hotel Tax ) increase

Effective January 1, 2018, the Transient Accommodations Tax ( TAT or Hotel Tax ) will increase by 1%  – from 9.25% to 10.25%.  The rate applies to all transient rental accommodation statewide. The Transient Accommodations Tax is levied upon every operator and plan manager on the gross rental or gross rental proceeds derived from furnishing transient accommodations. KKN Plumbing Update – August,  2017 The KKN Board of Directors is charged with making sure our monthly owner’s dues are used wisely and that our 1970’s property is maintained, repaired and kept in good condition. During the past few years many owners have witnessed the deterioration of our aging cast iron pipes inside the wall between the kitchen and the bathroom. Initially our approach was to replace the badly cracked and corroded  common element cast iron pipes as leaks occurred, but  since emergency repairs and replacements are more costly and disruptive to both owners and guests, we began replacing

KKN Gets New TV Cable and Wifi Package from Spectrum Our cable TV and Internet supplier, Oceanic Time Warner Cable, has been sold to Spectrum. By the end of 2017, Spectrum will be upgrading all bulk properties, such as ours, to Standard (Digital) Service, which will require a converter box for each TV in your unit. They are offering 2 converter boxes for each unit at no extra cost, while they are installing them.
